Fall into Football Season with College Lifestyles

As fall rolls around, we are all preparing for back to school by shopping, buying books and getting our planners organized. While that is high on my priority list since I am starting graduate school this fall, I am also looking forward to football season! Since I am a Pittsburgh girl, you know I will be cheering for my Pittsburgh Steelers. We all know that looking good while cheering on our team is just as important.

Luckily for us, Victoria’s Secret has come out with a line that supports 13 professional football teams. They have a variety of items for each team ranging from t shirts to sweatshirts. If you cannot find your professional team of choice, perhaps you can find a collegiate team to support–they have a plethora of options!

If you still cannot find anything you like at Victoria’s Secret, you can always try the NFL shop or your local department store. They should have jerseys, sweatshirts and everything nice!

What team are you supporting this fall or do you not care about football at all? Let us know in the comments section, by tweeting at us (@collegelifestyl) or emailing us at intern@collegelifestyles.org!

    5.  Love getting or giving Valentine’s cards? Both! I miss the days of elementary school where you would make the little “Valentine box” and everyone in your class would get cards from everyone else!

    6.  My Valentine’s cards have to have the following cartoon characters? Twilight valentines haha Emmett please!

    7.  Chocolate or flowers? Anything dark chocolate mmm… or chocolate mixed with peanut butter, but flowers are lovely too.  I am so indecisive!

We have these Lindt truffels at work and I am addicted!

    It’s A Zoo Out There!

tigerAre you stressed out from all of the hard work you have been doing in your classes?  Why don’t you grab some friends/sorority sisters/roommates and head to the zoo!

I know going to the zoo seems like a very “summer” thing to do, but fall is truly a beautiful time to go.  Since the weather is cooler, the animals are much more playful.  Plus, it usually isn’t as crowded.  I just spent the day at the fabulous Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium with my mom and best friend.  We had an amazing time.  We even got to see a baby sea lion!

It is so nice to take a break from school (or in my case work) to get some fresh, crisp fall air!  Bring a camera and make sure the animals aren’t the only thing you photograph.  Zoos always seem to have goofy signs and props spread around so take advantage of them!

Our zoo likes to compare heights of animals to put them into perspective.  On this scale, we have a baby human, baby elephant, Ben Roethlisberger (quarter back for my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers) and an adult female elephant.  Let’s see where Brittany and I fall in on the scale…

I’m sure your local zoo has something fun like this!

They also have these turtle scooters that are clearly made for five year olds.  Obviously we had to try them out.  We weren’t so successful (we definitely crashed into each other!), but it was a fun time nonetheless!

The next non-rainy day you have, try going to the zoo.  Once winter rolls around, you will be wishing you spent some more time outside.  Most zoos let you pack a lunch and bring it with you.  So, grab your friends, a camera and a bagged lunch and you’re good to go for the day!  If you end up going, be sure to share your pictures with us! You can e-mail them to us at intern@collegelifestyles.org

In the mean time, what is your favorite animal at the zoo? I’m partial to tigers and polar bears!
