Love New Tunes? iDo! Try Kate Earl

Ok, I will admit–if you do not like playing “name that tune” you would never be able to road trip with me for hours, let alone down the block, without wanting to strangle me. I am a serial “name that tune”/”who sings it!” player with no plans to retire anytime soon. One of my truest *free* happy moments comes from discovering new music that I can’t seem to get enough of. I had to make a rule to keep myself off iTunes after a certain hour so I wasn’t spending all my money there–but hey, I have a great collection of music some people have never dreamed of!. What is better than great tunes? Free tunes!

Today I paid homage to the free download of the week, and was quite pleased when my speakers were letting me in on a new piece of satisfaction that didn’t even cost the usual 99 cents!

Enter, a world where Kate Earl takes my ears to a place that is rich, soothing, and melodic. Kate Earl’s “Melody” is every bit the promise its title makes, and I make the clicks to add it to my iPod. This is strides ahead of most of the singles of the week that I have come to download, and I am so pleased!

With the chaos of my senior year hours away, I needed something to plug into, bringing my trek across campus a little brighter. The way I figure, one good song leads to another, so I had to test out the other clips that were online for the rest of her album.

The price tag for the other eleven songs was just $5.99 and what College Lifestyles lady can pass up a great deal? After sampling the other songs and being equally impressed, I downloaded the album.

There are songs that you can envision yourself hearing them in certain situations, like “Eye of the Tiger” when your workout is getting fierce, or “Dancing in the Moonlight” at the end of that great first date. Happily, I can envision myself with these rich melodies in so many different and versatile places. Safe for the work place? Check. Relaxing bath at the end of the day? Check. Walking to class or late night study session? Check. Great for girls night in or cooking dinner. Yes, I think she was well worth the $5.99.

To purchase, visit iTunes and download the free song of the week while you are at it!
